Roma take on Smalling for another month

Chris Smalling has been slow recovering from a hamstring injury and is targeting a return to action after the national team in November.

Roma will be without Chris Smalling until late November. As the English defender failed to recover from the injury the expected process, Sky Sport Italia reported on Tuesday. 

Smalling has been sideline with a hamstring injury in early October following the 2-0 win over Empoli. Before the 31-year-old has miss out on the last three games. Train to get fit and will continue to do it over the coming weeks.

The former Manchester United defender is expect to miss out on three more games. And is targeting a return to action at Genoa on November 21 following the international program during the month.

The England defender has been facing injury problems since joining from Manchester United in the summer of 2019 on loan. Before signing a permanent contract until 2023, Smalling has only played 20 games since then, including four this season. 

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the player continues his recovery from the injury he sustained against Empoli at the start of the month.

The 31-year-old continues to work separately and will do so in the following weeks, as the target is to have him back for Genoa vs. Roma on November 21.

That’s the first match after the players return from the international break next month.
